Status Status No Yes Ok Cancel I'd like the printer to appear in the 'add new printers' list so I can hit the 'add' button and then in the set up dialog, I'd like to have it automatically search for the printer and configure it for me. A: I couldn't find a way to do this with the stock UI. I actually just downloaded the printer driver (EPSON Stylus RX630) and did a bunch of editing and installed it in the menu as a printer, but it doesn't show up in the add new printers menu. The key was to add ;//doc[@id='EpsonRx630Setup3.Software'] to the bottom of the EPSON_RX630_Setup3.inf (it's the only thing in the files that don't already have comments in them). Once I added that it showed up. EDIT: The fix for the above still doesn't work with Windows 7 if you have a corporate network though, it still opens the add new printers dialog. Another hack was that I added this line to the EPSON_RX630_Setup3.inf file: ;doc[@id='EpsonRx630_MSMAllInOne_PPD.ddp']/doc[@id='EpsonRx630_MSMAllInOne_PPD.ppt'] Which is where the PPD is. So I'm going to make a program that is either in the registry or as a windows service (I'm not sure yet, but I think it'll be a windows service) that changes the printer PPD file to match my print driver.
